I've been using the 8x12 v2 for a few years and recently it has this issue, and it's happening more frequently every few days now.
I would hear a loud "piak" sound (sounded like a pebble hitting the windscreen) and my 8x12 will just go dead. No power, no lights on the controller.
Shutting down the car and restarting does not help, the 8x12 still will not power up, even though all the other equipment has power. Even after a day or two, it will not power up.

What I had to do to solve this is to pull out the power plug of the 8x12 (car is not started) and leave it for like 5 to 10 mins, before re-connecting the plug back again.
Sometimes it works, sometimes I had to do this disconnecting/connecting back twice, then the 8x12 powers up. It's like having to do a complete power isolation.

This issue started like more than 6 months back, but it only happened once every few months. Then it happened once every few weeks. Now it's like happening every few days.
It happened yesterday and today as well, that's why I decided to post here to see if anyone else encountered this issue and what might be the cause?

Well, last night it finally went off with a loud "piak" sound and could not be revived regardless what I tried.

Ok, fyi.  For some reason it came to my mind to unplug the cord for the remote, at the dsp.  I waited 10 seconds and then plugged it back in.  My dsp lives again.  Don't know why it worked.
