Hi Guys,

I have just replaced my C-DSP 6x8 with an C-DSP 8x12 DL and now get a horrendous  switch off pop, sounds so loud I wouldn't be surprised if it's blown a speaker.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing it or the best way to diagnose the problem?

Thanks very much,

Josh

Problem solved

The 'pop' was caused by the DSP switching off before the amp.

The 8x12 does feature turn on/off delays. But of course these only work if you have the DSP powered by a permanent live, I had mine switched by the ignition circuit!!

A quick rewire to a permanent 12V and the switch off pop has disappeared

Cheers,

Josh

The Ignition switch  12v connects  to 8x12 REMOTE IN ... then REMOTE OUT connects to power amps REMOTE POWER (12v) ...You should not have 12v live connected  to 8x12  REMOTE IN (that will drain your battery)

Section 3.4  / page 17      8x12 user manual  ...If it's popping when you power OFF ...or you have 12 v battery  connected to REMOTE IN ....you do not have it wired correctly ....

Sorry I wasn't clear in my original post, it's the DC in that I had originally connected to switched ignition live, hence the DSP switching off at the same time as my amp and causing the pop.

The remote in/out was always connected correctly i.e. Headunit remote out -> DSP remote in and DSP remote out -> Amp remote in :)

Now that the DSP DC in is connected to a permanent live I can set the delayed remote out to 4 seconds and the pop has been eliminated :D

Thanks,

Josh
