I def got in over my head on this. I am a novice audio hobbyist. My system is a JL Audio ZR 6.5 active two-way front stage and a 13w7 sub. My amps are HD600 and HD1200. I had a TWK 88 as my DSP and wanted to see what DIRAC could do in my system. I got it working and am able to connect but I must have routing/matrix issues. I cannot find anyone in my area (Sacramento, CA, USA) to help me, so I am here. I have RCA inputs and coax digital going into the 8x12 and then RCA out to the the amps. Is there anybody who can help me? Everything worked with the TWK 88 and made sense. Def not so with this new DSP!

Make sure you don't have digital coax and RCA inputs both active at the same time and mute all output channels enabling only 1 at a time to identify what speaker it's going to. If any are incorrect, you can fix in software by matrix routing, or physically by moving the RCA output cables

Thanks so much. I think I made a mistake with the coax input. I am hopeful this will fix my issue. Will try tonight.

Hello. When I mute all outputs the tweeters still play. What could I have done wrong?

Are your tweeter each powered by their own channel on the amplifier with no external crossover (active) or do they share a channel with the mid base via a crossover (passive), or are they maybe running on deck power from the radio?

I have my tweeters active with their own amp channel and the mids are also active with their own amp. The HD600 runs the front stage active with the 3x RCA coming out of the pioneer deck (F, R Sub) to the DSP with output crossovers on the DSP at 4500 HP for the tweets 80-4500 for mids I must have something wrong in the routine or input section. The settings for the Twk88 we very intuitive on this DSP I just can’t seem to get it right. I have an extremely low thin sound coming out of my tweeters as if they are getting only a low pass signal that is attenuated by the resistor that’s in there to protect them from turn on pops etc. I have been messing with it for hours and cannot figure out where the problem is. I have started from scratch three or four times. And miniDSP is not writing me back. I appreciate your assistance.

Show your CDSP Routing & Mixing tab configuration.
Paste it to imgur.com / attach image or something.

For now, maybe you should try with just 1 Dirac L, R channel tune as shown below, as that will be the simplest...

@danthe0, in your example image of the mixer, you are sending 6 DIRAC channels to only 2 outputs.

I attached my input, mixer, routing and output images. Although I'm using 5 DIRAC channels to mix, I'm only tuning 3 of them in dirac software which is why they are ordered in the way they are. The rears only acting as fill and I would not want to tune them. Using Bass Management for the sub output will let you use easily adjust sub level from the remote on the fly

My setup for context: Pioneer head unit also using 6 RCA to DSP.
3-way active front stage powered via 6ch amp
L-R rear fill located in rear package tray powered by 2 ch amp
Trunk subwoofer powered by mono amp (but with 2 RCA inputs)

The Bass Management takes the low passed frequencies from all 6 input channels (so any time alignment done in the headunit would cause phasing issues, turn it off). This is why the Sub input can be excluded from the routing table

Ok. Your system is similar to mine. I have two way active front though. Should I use just rca x 1 and bass management for the sub to make things simpler? Or should I use the sub out rca from pioneer head unit to the 8x12? I have a bass knob for the Sub amp to adjust that on the fly when needed. I have turned everything off in head unit so it’s doing no processing just sending out stereo Analog signal to 8x12.

In my case the sub output from head unit to DSP is somewhat redundant and not really needed. Assuming the head unit has no crossovers set either, you can just use the front L/R RCA and be fine. I might want to use the fader control on the head unit to adjust the rear fill level or to disable it, so using the rear set of RCA's retains fader controls. Also sometimes hands free cell phone calls, backup sensors or door chimes might be setup to play on front or rear depending on your integration, so there maybe another reason to have both.

The subwoofer knob you currently have is likely either a bass boost control, or a gain/level control, which might give a similar end result (more or less bass) but it does not operate quite same when it comes to avoiding clipping at the amplifier output. I find keeping that knob relatively low and using only the DSP bass control to give much better results

Do not use front RCA from stereo to just the tweeter and the rears to the midbass in a 2-way setup. If it's in the front of the car, run it off the decks front RCA outputs.

Yes, one thing I did notice is that the cell phone is no longer working with carplay. It plays music but will not play the audio from an incoming or outgoing cell phone call. So I think I need to use both F, R and Sub RCA out for that reason.
