I have connect up my USB Streamer and have been able to play audio back no problems over I2S (16 bit LE, 48000). My problem is trying to record - it looks like it is defaulting to 32bit LE 8 k - Alsa experts how can I change this?

[email protected]:~$ arecord -Ddsnoop:USBStreamer test.wav
Recording WAVE 'test.wav' : Unsigned 8 bit, Rate 8000 Hz, Mono
arecord: set_params:1233: Sample format non available
Available formats:
- S32_LE
