Hello. I purchased the UMIK-1 for use with Room EQ Wizard. REW recently added ASIO support. I'd like to use ASIO because it allows me to address individual analog output channels on my 7.1 system (HTPC) without shuffling cables around. REW detects the UMIK-1 on startup, however, the ASIO input selection doesn't show the microphone.

From the FAQ it says the UMIK-1 supports ASIO. Does anyone see this same issue? Perhaps the devs can reproduce this issue as well? I posted this question on REW forum (in a slightly different context) and JohnM has seen it and responded but we don't have a solution yet.

Thanks! I love how easy it is to use the UMIK-1, however without the ASIO input in REW, it's not as easy as I was hoping. :(

Thanks!

@ Akajester,

Did you try to install ASIO4ALL driver (www.asio4all.com/)? That would be the required driver to be used to make sure you have ASIO support for the UMIK-1.
Make sure that you select 48kHz as the sample rate.

Here's what I posted in the REW forums. any suggestions?

I installed asio4all, and in REW I select asio4all, however I can use either the xonar for individual channel output, and no usb umik-1. Or I can select the umik-1 for input but don't have an output device. I can't use the Umik-1 and the xonar card together in REW.

If I go back to Java, I get only right/left analog output and the umik-1 doesn't work.

This is a real bummer.

If I use the Umik-1 with asio4all, how do I get audio output from REW? Any suggestions how to make this work? This really makes the Umik-1 useless in REW or am I missing something really obvious? Thanks.

Glad to hear that you're all set. We can add it to a quick app note in the future.
