Well so far, so good on my end..I was able to ship my mic back to a Canadian address ( bonus! ), and afterwards received a refund for the shipping. My new Umik-1 has shipped and should be here in a few weeks. I'm happy with how they are handling this.

"- SPL meter in REW: Finally, some of you noticed that REW would not correctly report the dBSPL value in the SPL meter. With the great help of John, we've been finding an offset that now need to be carried out on both REW and the calibration file. Once a script goes on the file and modifies the value, an announcement will be made along with the request for you to "download" the REW install package. Please bear with us for this small inconvenience. "

Any word on when the calibration file will be fixed? Or was there already an email sent out on this? I do not have a reliable SPL meter, and planned on using this function of the UMIK.

I send several mails to MiniDsp and always had response within a couple of hours .
I tried to solder the capacitor mod on my mic board , but fried the solder pads . I send a mail to the DevTeam , explaining my stupidity , and had a new mic board in THREE days in Brisbane Australia , no questions asked , no invoice ! Very good service and very professional . Mic works great now , still learning and measuring my 15" Tannoy DC's and learning about DSP's and soon they will be on the back of this beauties .
If any of you have any experience in active 15 inch Tannoys with MiniDsp , please respond . My speakers are 3839's driven by Emotiva UMC-1 and DIY Class-D 5 channel 300W Amp .
Cheers ,

Rens

I don't know.
I open my inbox everyday and also take a look at the spam folder but no messages from MiniDSP besides the auto reply until now.

Without laying out a litany of boring detail regarding my first mic, I'd suggest the following:

If you're still having UMIK-1 issues or concerns at this point, contact DevTeam directly via email at the "info@ " address... their efforts and customer-care responses to my questions have been prompt and absolutely over-the-top generous to get me "fixed up" again.

My second mic is here now (this one, obtained through Herb at Cross-Spectrum Labs) and I'm delighted with it.

Recapped my subwoofer's power supply today after some hum and disappointing bass .( Caps were about 30 years old )
Hum is gone and bass is back again !
Have a look at my sub at :
www.diyaudio.com/forums/subwoofers/64371...lectrical-means.html
Umik 1 is working great with Behringer UCA202 .
Look at the REW curve . How good is that !

Thanks again and cheers !

Hello, I purchased a mic late last year (700-0161), but just now got around to actually opening it to use. Found out there has been trouble with these mics and my calibration file has changed. I cannot use this mic, I need to be able to measure down past the stated 15 Hz that spec'ed the mic when I bought it. I would like to return this mic. It is still brand new and unused.

Thought I would post in this thread, too. I did send an email, this auto response came back:
"Thanks for your inquiry and interest in the miniDSP products. Our customer service team will shortly answer your question. "

Best Regards,
tesseract
