I had bought the umik-2 a while back and just ordered umik-1 (USB-C based) as a back up. However, from a quick examination, the two seems to be similar.

1. UMIK-2 has a bit flatter frequency response (4dB range vs 5dB on the umik-1, see plot).
2. UMIK-1 has a 5dB lower noise floor when recording in my quiet room despite it having a higher gain out of the box. (This surprised me as one of the listed benefits of umik-2 was improved noise)

Thoughts?

I am going to start using the umik-1 as a conferencing mic as well. The higher gain makes it suitable.
