Hi all-

Can I connect UMIK-1 directly to a freestanding stereo DAC? The cable would need to be mini-USB to USB-B.

Would this work? Would both L & R analog outputs from the DAC be identical?

Thank you.

No. You need to connect a UMIK-1 to a computer of some form to be useful.

Thanks for your input. Let me make sure I understand.

GOAL: I need a realtime high quality analog signal from a UMIK-1.

SOLUTION: The only way to derive analog is to hook UMIK-1 to a PC, and let the PC feed an external high quality USB DAC

Do I have that right? I can do that but was hoping to avoid the intermediate PC.

Why don't you use a conventional microphone rather than a USB microphone? The point of a USB microphone is really to get a signal in a digital form that can be captured on a computer.
