Hi,

I'm trying to use my UMIK with Dirac on OS X. I have an early UMIK (serial 700-0222) and would really, really like to increase the gain. Factory default on my unit is 0dB.

I understand that I can increase the gain via the dip switches on the internal PCB. But it appears that I have one of the early units whose mounting ring on the back is glued shut, per some of the other threads. I can't remove the ring for the life of me.

Has anyone here successfully removed a glued ring? Any suggestions?

David

mmmh, that's indeed one of the very early units... You could try to use a hair dryer to warm up the body of the microphone (near the glue section). That could do the trick.
