Hi All,
I'm new to streaming having at last finally ripped the last of my CDs using EAC.
I created a file structure as follows
Level 1 Music Folder
Level 2 Artist
Level 3 Album (Year released and Title as the folder name. The tracks within the folder are then labelled with a track number and track name)

So with the above if metadata is dodgy, I can still find all the albums/songs by a particular artist, and if I want to binge listen, I can do it in Album release date order!

But I do want to try to use metadata more but I'm having a couple of problems. First inconsistency in how tracks appear in my control Apps. For example opening some Album folders I'll see "Track number. Track title", (perfect) but in other folders I see "Artist - Album - Track number - Track title" (what a pain) low and behold, more often than not, the app runs out of space to show the track title and if unlucky runs out of space to even show track number! So every track in the folder appears the same, simply "Artist - Album" Great - really helpful - thanks!!

Second problem is that some data must be missing as if I search by Artist, I won't get all of their material that I know I have (arrrgh frustrating).

So at last to my question: Can anyone recommend a hassle free software that can scan my collection and please just create accurate and consistent metadata without me having to painstakingly go through checking it all?

Thanks in advance for any ideas

I am not sure that this will resolve all your issues but it helped me to sort out my metadata on a large music library. The software I used is called Mp3Tag. Give it a try...

Hope that helps!
