@devteam - Moderators - isn't it about time you dealt with the recent outbreak of SPAM posts in this forum, advertising various medicines and supplements? I'm getting fed up of wading through them trying to find posts that are actually about miniDSP products. This should be a simple thing to fix and it would improve the forum experience for its legitimate users.

We understand your pain.. Trust us, we're going through the same.. Indeed, that's something we're actively trying to solve! our script somehow stopped working at handling most common issue, it's still catching most of the issues behind the scenes..  
We're trying hard to see how we can fix it... We might need to upgrade to a new forum board to solve that solution if the dev can't..

Thanks for the update. Improved forum software would be good too  .

Another possible option to consider to help might be to give a few chosen forum members some limited admin rights to help remove obvious spam posts. I do similar on another forum and I know at least one other regular here does elsewhere too.

Yes that would be sensible - I do that on a couple of other forums.

Or why not have the facility for members to mark posts as spam (importantly without needing to open them since we can tell they’re spam from their titles). If @devteam got three hits on a post you could delete it without even checking. Just trust your forum members have correctly identified something that shouldn’t be here.

We do already have a 'report' button, which I think I've used exclusively to report spam.

But you can’t get to that without opening the post. Would prefer it somewhere next to the title. And if dev just automatically deleted anything that got 3 - 4 reports, they’d be gone pretty quick. Whatever the solution, hope they come up with it quickly.

Great idea @Ultrasonic! We've enabled access so you & Tony can do that... You've certainly been so helpful in the community! 
We've sent you information on how to delete these offending post when we're offline.. 

The past few weeks have seen a rise of new type of bots that can pass through the typical "honeypot". while we're stopping a lot based from logs, we're trying new ways to stop them.. kinda wack a mole.. We're also looking to upgrade to Xenforo board. I think that it's a lot more powerful.. Hoping you guys find that useful!
