TOPIC:

The flex 8 seems to be the optimal solution for my purposes.
Alas bad experience tells me that especially on the long distances I have to bridge asymmetrical connections always lead to problems.
So will there be a flex 8 balanced be coming sometime?
( or even better: is the option already built in and one would only need to DIY the connections? )

Volume control.

Competitor alternatives are the venu360, (which does not have a volume control, so not an option), or a DEQX, which is not currently available.

In for this as well. 

People have been asking for this for years, obviously there is a demand, I truly don’t understand why nothing has been released.

I'm trying to understand the reason for balanced interface outputs.
Do you need more voltage?
Are your power amps 200 feet from the Flex 8?
In either case, there are add-on equipment choices in the professional market that can easily achieve both goals with minimal extra cost.

If you'd want a Flex-8 version with XLR outputs it means going to a full-width rack case and extra circuitry/cost.
If you'd be okay with TRS jacks, it's possible the half-width case might accommodate that, but, it still means extra circuitry/cost.

I think it's extra cost and complexity for no effective performance gain.

My main reason are ground-loops!
I have been suffering from hum and other noise in my system from day 1.
Solved this by going balanced.
All my equipment is balanced.
The most important feature being the ground-lift
For connectors I don't care. I would be fine with Phoenix contacts you were using on the 4x10 and 10x10 HD devices....
