Thought I'd let you know what I'm looking for from your product :)

SPDIF coaxial input
-> Stereo 3-way DSP
-> Balanced analog output

DSP:
-Stereo 3-way
-12, 24 and 48db/octave slopes
-parametric EQ
- IIR filters for EQ and crossover
- FIR filter for phase correction
- Configurable limiter on output.

Analog out:
- 6 channels Balanced
- selectable output gain (to maximise DAC resolution for intended listening volume)
- ie. my RME soundcard has +19dBu, +13dBu, +2dBv options.

My understanding is that this will require 2x MiniDSP boards, plus digital and analog expansion boards.

My questions for you:
- Will this setup require 1 or 2 MiniDIGI cards? It seems to me the same stereo signal could be sent from the one DIGI board to both DSP boards.
- What are your plans for the analog expansion boards?
- Will FIR phase correction be implemented? Limiter?

Thanks :)

Hello,

In answer to your questions:

- Will this setup require 1 or 2 MiniDIGI cards? It seems to me the same stereo signal could be sent from the one DIGI board to both DSP boards.

First off all, as explained in the product concept, you can't control 2 boards from the same USB connection. You'll need to configure each miniDSP one by one. Connecting two boards on top of each other may also become more complex since you'll need a custom board to board connector to make sure that only power & I2S_Data_IN_ch7&8 (inputs to the plug-in from the miniDIGI) will be shared between the two boards. We haven't tested this configuration yet so I will have to get back to you if it can indeed be done or not.

- What are your plans for the analog expansion boards?

We're still in the design phases here and not ready to publicize much. The new analog expansion board will be balanced and using high specs ADC/DAC. The i/o count, specs we'll be able to achieve and how they will be powered are too early to talk about it.

- Will FIR phase correction be implemented? Limiter?

FIR is indeed planned for a future advanced plug-in. They will however be dedicated to advanced users who will do they homework to plug-in their own FIR filter coeffs.
Limiter is an easier task and will be implemented but no time line at the time being.
We still have a long list of task to perform before that (4Way PEQ/filter slopes/Importing features...)

Hope this answers some of your questions,
