,,when it receives an IR remote command?  In particular, a "MUTE" command??  Or, better, maybe turn the blue LED off entirely when the box is Muted?

Here's why ---
I have a scary problem with my system.  I keep the power amps on all the time, as they are class D, hidden away, and power to them isn't switched.  Very little power is dissipated when not playing music and there a multiple amplifiers for each speaker.   I use TOSLINK as the audio input interface.  But when my TOSLINK source (a SONY TV) is turned off, sometimes the 2x4HD starts generating its own signal and the power amp can suddenly start making a VERY loud screeching hashy sound, with probably a lot of high power high frequency level, and I fear it may blow my speakers if this happens when I'm not there!  When the 2x4HD is muted, no spurious screeching happens -- but I have no way to know whether the 2x4HD has received a "MUTE" signal without any visual feedback.  I've been awakened in the middle of the night to really weird loud noises from this.

And I'm a little afraid I may come home some day to find a speaker on fire!

Thanks
