Hi

Am I right that the OpenDRC-DA8 is discontinued? If so, we need a replacement for three-way loudspeaker projects. It needs FIR taps & volume control. I do not need Dirac.

Best regards

I have a 3 way FIR channel divider configured in 2x4 HD.
Of course, I use two 2x4 HD for 2CH stereo playback.
How about this method?

With this configuration, the number of taps of the FIR filter can be set more than when a 2 way 2 CH channel divider is configured with one 2x4 HD, and it seems to be advantageous in terms of sound quality.
Also, at my own risk, I have replaced the OP amp, electrolytic capacitor, and coupling capacitor inside the 2x4 HD with higher quality ones. As a result, there was an improvement in clearness.

Thank´s a lot, I have a question

I do not quite understand the approach, is it arranged so that you use a toslink splitter, upstream two 2x4HDs? By this approach I can have one 2x4HD for left, and one 2x4HD for the right channel.

Sorry for late reply.
It uses both digital and analog outputs as shown below.

[PC]---(TOSLINK)---(Opt Splitter)--(TOSLINK)-- [2x4HD for R-CH]
           +----(TOSLINK)-- [2x4HD for L-CH]

[PRE-AMP]--- (Analog-R)----[2x4HD for R-CH]
     +- (Analog-L)---- [2x4HD for L-CH]

Fully agree.
An SHD without Dirac and with FIR would be great, providing analog and digital In and out.
I'm using an openDRC DA8 for a while. Good product.
I can suggest the use of PowerICE 125 or 250 instead if you don't need external amps. They really are versatile products with their analog and digital inputs and their really clever digital loop-through capability allowing daisy chain over multiple multi-amp channels using one XLR/AES cable.
Hopefully they will have a successor....
