Some people have been asking for a monophonic plugin for the openDSP plateform, in order to EQ and filter a subwoofer with the available 12288 taps at 48kHz.
I think a 32kHz plugin would be better in all respects.
It would let the user deal with around 9216 taps at 32kHz (1.5x factor), which would be equivalent to 13824 taps at 48kHz in term of EQ/filtering power (1.5x factor again).
And of course we would still have two channels...
If such a plugin ever appear, it would probably be a good idea to just remove the IIR section and get some more taps (and avoid those noisy biquads for LF purpose :p )

Just to make things clear(er), the intend is not to use it on a fullrange signal, but on subwoofers or woofers (everything but a tweeter, really...) in an active system with several openDRC's (or miniSHARC modules).
The 32kHz sampling rate give a frequency response up to 16kHz, which is enough for about any channel in a multiway system but the highest one, and the 2.25x factor in term of FIR correction power would really make is killer IMHO...

Okay it looks like nobody wants that...
So let's go back to the 384kHz madness for low frequency channels, I guess

Hi Thomas, why 32 k and not (say) 8k?
I am not miniDSP support.

Hi John,

I am under the impression that 32kHz is the lowest sampling rate that will be supported throughout by the hardware.
For example Curryman's DAC specifies: "Supported I2S input sample rates (kHz): 32, 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4, 196".
