I'm using a miniDSP 2x4 to clean up audio on some lower end speakers in a small setup and so far it has been working excellently, well right up until I wanted to do a quick before/after comparison to confirm my ears are matching my microphone readings.

I notice I can turn off individual PEQ filters one-by-one, but cannot bypass multiple filters at the same time, or even better, bypass the entire parametric EQ stage at once.

Thanks

Hello Creyc,

Indeed, good suggestion that we've heard before. We'll try to implement that in future software updates..
Another quick way for the time being would be to "load" a blank configuration where the filters are off. Not as instant, but will get the point accross.

Hello,
I fully agree, it would be really great to have a full minidsp bypass in one buttom that gave a entire bypass from input to output because it makes it much more easy to do quick comparison with/with out filtering, it would be great the have this in the minidsp apps.

I don't think you want a button that bypasses everything, because that will turn off the crossovers too... (?)

FWIW I think the suggestion of using different configs probably the best way to go. Too risky to just turn everything off.

Hi John Reekie,

I think it depends a little bit how you use the minidsp.

I use the minidsp with the MINI DSP - 2x4 ADV app together with REW to try to optimize my room acoustic and therefore I bypass the crossovers in the app anyway since I only use the parametric EQ's.
It is in this situation I would like to do a kind of fast A/B test where I can quickly switch in and out the filtering, to hear the difference quickly.

Im using mindsp advanced plugin.  Im too trying to find a way to bypass the full EQ settings for all speakers so i can hear before and after.  This is very easy to do in Sonarworks. Its very satisfying to hear the corrected version and be able to A/B quickly.   Is this really not possible now in the advanced plugin?  to turn off the speaker correction?

What I do is keep one preset with no EQ applied, and then switch between this and other presets when I want to make the sort of comparison you describe. I do this with the remote control and so can do it under normal listening conditions, rather than having to adjust settings on a computer.
