Hello all ~ this is my first post............ My apologies if this subject has been covered before; I have searched the forum for the information but I'm struggling.

I plan to setup a 4x10 Hd unit to become a 4 way active crossover using analogue stereo in or digital in via optical or coax. Setting up the matrix route for analgue stereo was fine; Left (analogue in #1) is routed to analogue outputs 1~4 and Right (analogue in #2) is routed to analogue outputs 5~8.

My difficulty is that I don't know how to configure the plugin's matrix to give the same 8 analogue outputs as above when a digital input source is used. If, for example, the 4x10 Hd is fed digital into its optical or coax input, how are the individual left & right channels extracted and routed from the combined digital stream ??

You just use the routing/matrix page to select the left and right digital ins for the analog outputs. Each output sums whichever combination of inputs are selected for that output. See Figure 7 here: www.hifizine.com/2011/06/tour-of-the-minidsp-2x8/ - in that case analog and digital left and right are summed.
