Hi, so I've configured my minidsp for a simple crossover at 1000hz and when play through it using a known amp and speakers (left playing main, right playing tweets) im getting a funny sounding main. its sound is hard to describe. it has a kinda weird bass if any. kinda the opposite of a 'rich' sounding system.

i have no idea what is wrong so any help is appreciated

Dion

ps jumpers are configured for 0.9v and master. VU meter is about halfway up on input and output.

can i also say it still sounds weird when the reset button is pressed and the audio is passed straight through. however if i connect to the amp directly it sounds normal

Hard to say what it could here with that limited info. What type of signal are you feeding here? What source? I.e. just trying to make sure that you're not overloading the input.

If you have a crossover (i.e. 1000Hz), you shouldn't have the same signal at in/out. You should only have 1/2 at the output. Are you synchronized when you're doing that demo?

Thanks for the reply.

I noticed something weird with one of the cables at my parents house and just found a dvd player to test them with. Turns out one of the cables has a.. fault? i guess. it has no mid range compared to the other one which sounds normal... guess i found the fault haha
