hello all. apologies if this has been covered before, i did have a good look through archived threads but couldn't find this question specificaly...

i have a single mini dsp with stereo crossover (graphic & advanced) plug-ins, so i realise i will need not only another mini dsp but also the 2.1 plug-in.

anyway, can you set your modules up with one as stereo hf & mid using the stereo advanced crossover, then use the second as stereo bass and mono sub using the 2.1 plug-in (or just mono sub on a 2 way & sub configuration), taking the audio input from the first card? i guess the only question is about the taking of source signal to both modules from one set of inputs via the expansion sockets. it stands to reason that if you were to use a y-split cable you could feed both modules identical signal, and that although running seperately, as long as the filter settings are correct they will behave as one, larger crossover.

James,

Not sure to understand your question since you said that you have a single miniDSP but you're talking of 2/3way stereo application which would need 2 miniDSP at least (6 out + sub). You will indeed need a Y cable to feed both miniDSP units.

Hoping this info helps

hi, thanks for the reply.

yes, as i said i do realise i would need another dsp board and the 2.1 plug-in.

my question was regarding sending audio between boards via the expansion port, which given that you have suggested the second of my proposed solutions (the y-split into the boards), i take it cannot be done.

James,

The Y split is indeed the way to go.
