Not sure what you mean by "loopback mode". Are you talking of the miniDIGI?
If you are, in a loopback mode you're essentially taking the SPDIF/Toslink input converted to I2S and rerouting that same I2S data (without any processing) directly to the SPDIF output.

So yes, volume control wouldn't work since loopback is just looping back without dSP. Please clarify what you mean by "loopback" if that didn't answer your question.

Yes it´s the loopbackmmode described in the miniDIGI manual,so no volume or no EQ will work in that mode ten?

Ryssen,

I'm not sure if you understood what we explained above about the loopback mode..
If you need SPDIF in + Processing (i.e. PEQ/Filter/Volume..etc), then you don't need to use the loopback mode. You just need to route your SPDIF out (using the correct jumper) to the I2S out from the DSP. See miniDIGI user manual for explanation.

The Loopback mode is really used as a test tool to test Digital In (e.g. SPDIF/Toslink) being "rerouted directly" to Digital output (SPDIF toslink) "within the miniDIGI. The Digital audio data (I2S) will NEVER reach the miniDSP stacked in that configuration.

Does this make a bit more sense? Please have a look at above explanation or miniDIGI manual section on I2S routing for more info.
