Hi. I went to the download site to get the software for my new minidsp 2x4 (not HD). minidsp 2x4 was not an option??? Are minidsp 2x4 advanced - the same box or what? In User Manual I couldn't find any similarities to numbers on the product, that was able to confirm any choices for correct software download.  I don't want to miss out the only chance I have with the coupon code. Hope for advice.

'2x4 Advanced' is one of the different 'plugin' (software) options for the 2x4 hardware that you have. This page gives you more information:

Thank you for a good answer. So actually, basic needs are already in the minidsp? I plugged the minidsp to the PC, and the PC can see the minidsp among printers and other connected units. I can not get into the minidsp and the built in software to adjust anything. How do I do that? Maybe I am both a newbie and a dummy, but I was hoping this was plug'n play. I plugged but it didn't play

That is what you need one of the 'plugins' for  .

Thank you Ultrasonic. May the force be with you. So this means that the minidsp is not a standalone unit. It is only a place to store how you want the sound to behave, after adjusting the plugin by your PC. Am I right?
I need a 2ch PEQ with at least 6 bands and adjustable Q factor. Also need 2ch compression with Threshold, Attack, Ratio and release. Do I need to pay anything extra for plugins after use the coupon code first time? I guess Expander and gate is not a possibility for minidsp.

Yes, you need a computer to configure the 2x4, but once set up how you want you don't need to keep the computer connected.

If you have questions about specific plugins I suggest you contact miniDSP support. I've used a 2x4 HD and SHD but not 2x4 and so don't have experience of the exact plugins you can use.
