Hi, I can't get REW to generate pink noise through my stereo speakers via the miniDSP. I can hear the pink noise through my computer speakers when I disconnect the USB. I think I may need the UAC2 driver but even after I checked the manual I couldn't find where to get the driver. Many thanks.

Which miniDSP do you have?

DDRC-24. I can't get my computer to generate pink noise through my stereo speakers. Do you think this is the culprit or might it be I don't have my connections right? Thanks.

Was just checking that the product you were using supported USB audio (which the DDRC-24 obviously does).

Page 12 of the manual (3.1.3 Install the miniDSP Software) has guidance on how to download and install the UAC driver. Short story is you can download the driver by downloading the latest DDRC-24 software from the User Downloads section. The driver is included in the folder labeled WinDrivers.

Thanks, Michael. Yes, I found the UAC driver exe and clicked on it. But that seems to have made no difference. Still no sound to the speakers. Any other suggestions? I am at wit's end really would like to be able to use the miniDSP.

I use a Mac so I may not be the most helpful in troubleshooting driver issues. However, I would generically check the following:

1) Was the miniDSP powered on and connected to your computer via USB when you installed the UAC driver?
2) Have you changed the input in the plugin to USB?
3) Have you appropriately setup the routing matrix?
4) Does the miniDSP work with sources other than USB?
5) Does the miniDSP work via USB when using something other than REW?

Thanks for your help, Michael. I'll try to track each of these down. In the meantime, re: (5). Can you suggest another program, other than REW, to test the miniDSP? Maybe the problem is the configuration of the REW program.

Anything that can generate sound should work. I would try and play a YouTube video.

If this is your first time using a miniDSP I would definitely give the manual a detailed read and use it to guide your setup. It can be quite overwhelming at first but after spending some time with the manual I am sure you can get the hang of it.

Thanks, Michael. Yes, I did read through the manual but I must be missing something. Let me check this. I should be able to play (say) a YouTube clip through the miniDSP. I have the supplied USB cable running from my PC the USB input on the miniDSP unit. Just for purposes of testing I have no cables going to the miniDSP inputs. I have the miniDSP powered on. I have analogue cables going from the miniDSP outputs to my preamp. That should work, correct?

Have you connected to the miniDSP via the plugin? You will need to do this to set up the routing matrix, select USB as the source and make sure that no filters / equalization are being applied (I think the by default some crossovers will be set which will need to be bypassed). See section 4 of the manual for more details.

I'm not sure I can find the plugin configuration page.

I have restarted my PC. I unplugged the miniDSP and plugged it back in. Using the miniDSP cable I connected the miniDSP to my computer via a USB port.

Nothing happens on my computer. How I do I start the software that has the configuration info mentioned on p. 16 of Section 4 of the manual?

Do I simply run the DDRC-24.exe file?

OK, I ran the file. Windows gave me a warning but I ran the exe file anyway. But then what? How do I get to the configuration page?
