Mmmm - I can't get any info from the Output Monitor displays, Dave??? :(

They are all green at the bottom (-70dB) and red at the top (0dB) ... and the colour display does not change with the music playing.

What am I doing wrong?

Andy

Clearly something. :) I don't know what with a vague description like that. You are synced to the unit, yes????

Dave.

Maybe not?

Once I have loaded the latest configs in the Plug-in, up to the miniDSP ... the next time I connect the computer to the miniDSP, I don't get the green Sync button - because the configs are the same.

So is the computer 'Synced' ... or not?

Yes it does! :)

Maybe not????????

So is there any way to get the computer to sync with the nanoDIGI without loading a config (that I don't want) up to the nanoDIGI?

Or do I have to get the computer to sync by loading a 'false' config into one of the 4 slots ... and then overwrite it with a 'real' config, later?

Andy,

No and No.
This is all explained in section 4 of the manual.
(Again, it works the same as your 10x10.)

I suggest to do more familiarization with the basic operation of the unit before delving into gain structure (and other) issues.

Dave.

Thanks for your ongoing assistance, Dave.

I have read Section 4 of the nanoDIGI manual (and Section 3.4 of the 10x10HD manual). In neither case that I can see does it offer any advice of what to do in my situation - which is:
* configs are uploaded to the nanoDIGI.
* then I disconnect the PC and close down the system.
* then I restart my PC and switch on my system ... and wish to have my PC in on-line mode - so I can watch the Input and Output Monitors??

Andy,

You don't seem to want to believe me nor the users manual, so I suggest to just experiment with it until you understand the operation.
That's the best way to learn.

It is not that I don't believe the UM (which you have referred me to), Dave ... it's that I can't find any words in the UM that specifically refer to what I am trying to do.

Unless I extrapolate (actually, invert) what the UM says and assume that, when I connect my plug-in to the 10x10HD / nanoDIGI and the green Sync button is not showing ... then my PC must already be synced? (In which case ... why couldn't I see the 'Monitor' screen changing with the music playing?)

Well, if you've purchased a nanoDIGI, you've got yourself into one of the coolest and best value products miniDSP has.
I suggest to read the users manual if you're having trouble getting started.

Read, re-read and re-read the manual.
There has to be something wrong.
I even tried re-installing the Adoby aps.
I wish they would communicate. What's with the no communication???
I've used a 2x6 DSP for around 7 years. Ant the 2x6 has much more features like Threshold and Q.
I only went with the Nano digi to use better DACs than the cheesy DAC in my 2x6 and most likely the Minidsp HD.

If you think you have a bad board then you should contact tech support. 'Just venting here on the user forum won't do any good.

But, it seems they're taking a long Xmas weekend, so are out of the office for awhile.

I understand what you're saying Dave, but what's with not having any contact telephone number, or at least an email address. They bring the venting on themselves.

They do have a contact email. It's right there on the support webpage.
support.minidsp.com/support/tickets/new

If you're going to contact them, I suggest to tone down your attitude and explain your tech issue clearly and concisely.
