Hi there,

I'm looking for a software that can build a fir allpass for my miniDSP 2x4HD.
I tried rephase, yet this does not seem to support allpass filters at all.

Greetings from Germany

Hi Matthias,

FIR Creator and FIR Designer can do this. They have maximum and minimum phase 1st and 2nd order all-pass filter prototypes, plus a 4th order parametric phase filter prototype (with BW, freq and angle). All prototypes are combined into the one FIR filter.

Kind regards,
Michael

Your question/requirement is somewhat confusing. A traditional allpass function would normally be a flat amplitude filter with a frequency-dependent delay. That could implemented with an IIR digital filter, or even an analog filter.

Normally, FIR filters are utilized to generate something that has zero phase distortion. And they (can) have a frequency-independent delay.

If you just want a pure delay, any of the miniDSP units can perform this function.
If you want the traditional allpass function, and of the miniDSP units can perform this function as well.
You don't need a FIR filter for either of those.

Dave.
