I just received my Minidsp and I'm trying implement a bandpass filter with the biquad functionality so a subwoofer can have both a lowpass and a subsonic highpass. I'm able to implement either the low pass or high pass alone without an issue. When I try to combine the two by placing the lowpass in Biquad1/2 and the highpass in biqaud3/4 it gives me an error ("Your biquad input is not formatted correctly").

Is this functionality not possible or am I doing something incorrectly? I think functionality should be included as it is imperative to using the MiniDSP as a crossover in 2-way and 3-way systems.

You're missing a few commas in biquad 4. :S

Hi,

I'M pretty new to this and I don't want to open a new thread since my question seems related:

Do the Biquad filters allow me to use the advanced 4-way plugin to have another highpass for one channel? I may need one for a 4-way speaker with a subwoofer.

If yes, can I still equalize the same subwoofer channel otherwise too?

Lom,

Each output already has a bandpass filter (Low pass + High pass) so typically, there is no need for using biquad filters to build a 4way system.

Biquad filter programming is detailed in the Applications section of the website. Please have a look at it first. You'll realize that filtering (i.e. LPF/HPF) and equalization (i.e. Parametric EQ) are in 2 different sections of the designs. In other words, yes, you could use biquad programming AND equalize.

Hope this info helps.

Thanks, actually I need another highpass for the subwoofer channel to protect the speaker from high excursion. As far as I can see from the pictures, the plugin only provides a lowpass for the channel (the tweeter has no lowpass either for example).
So I'm very pleased that if I really do a 4-way, I have the possibility to add a subsonic filter. :)

Lom,

It's just that in the picture we didn't enable the HPF and LPF for the first and last channels (bypassed). Please see the plug-in datasheet. It's showing clearly that EVERY output channel has LPF AND HPF.

Hope this clarifies.

Thank you for your information! I didn't look carefully enough - I was used to the fact that conventional crossovers do not provide this.
