Maybe you are routed to other servers when located in the UK instead of Germany. I do not think that I have a network problem here. My SHD Studio also is using LAN cable network. My internet downlink is about 90 MBit/s. And I usually do not have problems even if my kids are streaming, gaming, downloading (when using the lumin).

Does the setting for the audio buffer is used by qobuz streaming? Does it help to increase this? I have it set to 4 MB.

Mine is currently set to 2 MB. When I was experiencing the qobuz issues being discussed in this thread I did try changing this but sadly it didn't seem to make any difference.

I also do not think it is a network related issue, otherwise me would have probems with Spotify and Tidal on the same device too.
Addionally I am using Radio Pardise in hires (Internet radio channel) on the SHD, no issues at all.

I think it is a bug with the old volumio version in conjuction with the SHD.

To have a comparison, I installed volumio 3 freshly on a raspberry PI 4. Qobuz is playing on this device with no errors at all at the same network cable

If there is a network related issue, there should be also an issue on the RPI.

Does anybody know if there is an announcement of MiniDSP when they update there OEM volumio version to recent versions?

I did not find any notes about that.

If no announcement are place atm I think i will order a bluesound node latest version to get rid of this old volumio/SHD stuff.

It's only if somehow the way qobuz runs on the SHD is somehow more sensitive to network issues I guess. It still needs fixing whatever the cause is! 

I may well just be coincidence but I really did notice a change at the time I went to Volumio 1.125. Very sad to see others are still having the issue  . Plus of course there's the risk I may find it returns.

qobuz not being usable would render the streamer functionality on the SHD pointless for me. Even if I didn't have a long-term qobuz contract I would have zero interest in using either Tidal or Spotify as alternatives. I won't be alone in this feeling and so this does need addressing to not impact long term sales.

Do you mean a statement when the next update may be? If so then no. The most recent update I've seen is the last in this thread.

Double-check the current situation of qobuz via BluOS before ordering. I think the issue has been fixed but it had it's own problems with qobuz not that long ago.

It's probably just a problem of updating the plugin on the volumio.
Seems miniDSP doesn't really work on offering actual plugins for the volumio release.

The volumio team has a particular repository with plugins for the minidsp volumio oem version.

I updated the squeezelite plugin so they could add it to the repository. They said they would look into it month ago. Sadly nothin happend.
I also build a plugin which adds default volume and preset when changing the input.
Nothin happend about that either...

I think the miniDSP Team has just to little manpower for workin on all problems...

I try to look into it if I could get a newer qobuz plugin running.

Well, I ended up buying a bluesound node 2I as a replacement for the streamer in the SHD. Kind of frustrating. I had to spend $400 on a streamer but I love Qobuz so much that and I don’t wanna live without it. I had contacted the deavteam about this problem eight months ago They told me that this was an issue between Qobuz and Volumio.

8 months ago this issue was already reported and still no solution. This is frustrating.

 

A good possible cause is mentioned here: moodeaudio.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=1588
Pausing a song causes the internet connection socket to be unused; Internet providers close sockets that have been unused for a while.
Then after unpausing, the software doesn't pick up that the connection has closed on the other side and therefore keeps skipping songs.

Also, I read somewhere else that Qobuz's track ID expires after a few minutes after which it must be requested again, which could cause skipping after a song has been paused for a while.

I have been having this problem for ages (I use Volumio on an SHD Studio, and Qobuz: Volumio never follows the order of the tracks, it just skips from one to another random one; playback is sometimes abruptly terminated etc.).

I wrote to Volumio. The main guy there (Davide) is Italian, so he replied in Italian to me:

"Davide, supporto tecnicoIl device miniDSP non è un prodotto ufficiale Volumio, bensì un dispositivo di terze parti per cui Volumio ha sviluppato il software su commissione.
Difatti lo stesso miniDSP non monta una versione software aggiornata (siamo ufficialmente sulla 3.378), ma una versione di Volumio2 ad esso dedicata e out of date.Il mio consiglio è di rivolgersi direttamente al produttore, riportando il problema.
Se lo stesso raccoglierà una serie di segnalazioni sarà molto probabile che ci commissioni lo sviluppo dell'ultimo OS Volumio, con tutte le nuove features e bug solving complessivo.
Lo stesso lo stiamo facendo noi per cercare di esporre una nuova offerta al produttore.Grazie per la segnalazione in ogni caso

You can put this into Google Translate and decide yourself what the real problem is. Reading between the lines my impression is that miniDSP should tackle the problem more aggressively, pay for a Volumio update specific to their products to be developed and implement it ... but they are not doing it ... 
 

I was struggeling so long with this problem without any solution.

I opened up two tickets on MiniDSP but never received an answer.

Right now  I even can't use the Spotify Connect or Tidal Connect feature anymore on the MiniDSP SHD. Any other endplayers in my network are working fine with my Ipad or Iphone, so it
seems once again a MiniDSP Volumio problem.

This is very very dissapointing so I decided to go on with other solutions and will sell all my MiniDSP devices now.

Without getting any support in case of trouble these products are way to expensive......



 

In my case I now almost can't listen to a single track without it being cut at some point and jump to the next one in the album.

It really is extremely irritating, and MiniDSP just don't seem to care. Oh and don't get me started on how bad the Volumio iPhone remote app is with Tidal ! Honestly unusable !

I think I'm probably going to end up HAVING to pay a Roon subscription just to be able to use my 1500€ SHD the way it was supposed to be used !
