I have just received a new Holo Audio May Dac. 
I wanted to use my minidsp shd as a streamer and room correction device and the holo as external dac. 
When connected by coax ( only digital output possibility on shd ), no sound arrives to the Dac. 
When tried with another DAC  ( Oppo Sonica ), Oppo is also  receiving nothing. 

Could anyone be so kind to help ¿

  I have the same problem, and i couldn't solve it........while i have a friend with a MiniDSP SHD where it's works !

I suspect this may be something rather different, rather than an apparent incompatibility with some DACs but not others.

  Of course ...i tried everything.....factory reset....i tried 3 differents Dacs ; Topping DX3 Pro v2, Bel Canto 2.5 and Bel Canto 3.7...no sound, even if i saw  the signal on the bargraph of the MiniDSP app on my PC....

Next week, i'm going to take the SHD to a friend who also has an SHD whose digitals outputs works normally.....

I tried everything.  Factory reset. I tried to input via coax to a nad 758v3i .... It seems nothing comes out from the digital output of the minidsp. Plugin checked ...
Minidsp staff thought it was a default unit. I am out of warranty and i would have to send it to China and back .....
Holo Audio staff told me that PLL must be set to off in Holo Audio Dac.

The miniDSP software that you install on your computer to configure the hardware is called a 'plugin'.

btw: IMHO this is a really bad name. If I was minidsp I would rename this software. At least I was confused by this name at first. maybe "minidsp Control" or "SHD Admin" or something like this would work better?

  This morning, i reconnected the digital output of the SHD to the digital coax input of a HC amp.....no results....i see the signal inputs on the bargragh, i see the signals on the outputs but no sound.....i'm desperate 
 

Any DAC, or digital input, has to support 96khz sampling rate.
If you've tried multiple, different, DAC's and none of them work, I'd say you have a bad SHD unit.

We assume that you have a tech support ticket for this case? That would be step#1..  
For community sake, can you please take a picture of the cable you're using and where you connected it on the SHD rear panel? Just want to check something. Thanks

You could try routing dirac1 to output3 and dirac2 to output4 as well. Maybe you accidentally connected the digital out 3&4 to the DAC that does not have any input routing connection from the both dirac channels in the screen shot?
