Hi,
I will use a Active (5v powered) Usb extension cord to connect my Shd to the Laptop.
Can this damage the Shd?
Thanks

In all honesty that's a question I'd be asking @DevTeam no, or customer support.

I can see no reason why damage would occur. Both ends are active so an active cable instead of passive doesn't appear to make a difference to either end.

It won't damage the unit, active USB cable are used for the purpose of extending USB cable limitation. No worries. :-)

You do need to make sure to select a USB 2.0 High Speed extender. Some of these extender aren't USB high speed = won't be able to discover the unit. i.e. don't grab the cheapest cable you see on the market. Read the specs first. :-)

It works fine, I've got a 10 meter extension feeding a powered hub that sits next to the SHD.  Both usb3 rated.  No glitches ever.
