Which could indeed have been because you didin't have the appropriate firmware version installed.

Dud, what is your point here? I think it is quite obvious that one of the firmware releases fixed this bug. It works now. But it shattered the display before I got it installed. This is my point here.

I do understand and I both sympathised and explained why I asked what I had in posts above.

Have you contacted miniDSP support about this? That is the correct route to try to get the issue addressed.

Yes, having the same issue (your pictures made it very easy to the behavior is the same). The issue started only after upgrading to the latest firmware version from SHD_v1_15_fw_v1_29.

I had the display replaced in my unit. I set it to the lowest brightness and dim after 5 seconds. Hoever I see that the full brightness get stuck from time to time. I need to switch it off and on again to bring it back to normal. The guys have some issues with source code management if the same bug is back. 

My display still occasionally stays on, despite having the option set in the configuration. Must still be some bug causing this, the OLED is not unusable but it's clearly degraded since new.
