My SHD is 25 months old. The display now has many pixels that don't work. Is this a known issue? Are others having the problem?

@Mike-48

Just curious, do you leave the display on 24/7 ?

My newest SHD has screen issues. Looks like two different brightnesses of pixels. Happened after 24x7 display use even though my older SHD's screen still looks fine. Doesn't really bother me now screen is turned off until remote is used.

I sure will. I will try to do it this weekend, but it may be a week before I can follow up, because of travel.

Yes, it is part of a complex system, and since the remote doesn't have a standby method, I leave the unit on. When the option was added, I set the display set to dim when not in use.

@entripy -- I looked at mine more carefully, and it looks like the photo you posted -- two different brightness levels, not dead pixels as I thought. It's not blue like yours, though.

@Mike-48 - Mine isn't actually that blue but I had to reduce the image brightness hugely which made the very light blue hue look very dark.

hi Guys, my SHD studio LCD display is burning in badly just after 8 months of operation. The pixels which are usually illuminated (preset, dirac logo, dB, etc) are half of original brightness.

the photos are taken 4 months ago. Now it is much worse.

Anyone having the same issue?

Do you have the display set to be on constantly or switch off after a period of inactivity? I'd do the latter if you aren't already.

I think the screen is OLED not LCD by the way.

I do switch off most of the times. The main issue I believe was that the issue comes from PC management software - when I bought it (October 2020) the software didn't manage dimming so I had it constantly at 80% brightness. If I remember well only after one of the firmware updates the dimming settings started to have any effect on the device.

The firmware change that introduced the display automatically switching off was released about 18 months ago actually:

Subsequently to this there was then an additional change that allowed to to control how long the display stayed on for etc.

maybe my unit came with old firmware that was not compatible with the minidsp pc software? I remember wasting 1 hour trying to get the display dim

Yes it may well be that the delivered firmware was older but the newer version would have been available had you checked. Obviously this is moot though and what matters is that you have an issue with your display  . I asked my question as I was curious if you were having an issue despite the screen dimming/switching off.

basically I was changing settings in the PC minidsp software and had no effect on the display behaviour (dimming)
