For how long this would be allowed by Roon we do not know. Therefore my question to MiniDSP Dev team still stands.

Fair enough.

Dev. Team stated that submission to ROON was done. I guess once certification was completed new firmware announcement will be done.

That was a month ago, I think they know if the certification process is going forward or not.

That was a month ago, I think they know if the certification process is going forward or not.

I just got an email from Roon support saying that the SHD certification is finalized but that they can't share more details. Not sure what that means for us...but it seems like a good sign!

Would be great to get a response on this as I just setup my new SHD and can’t use Roon. The primary reason I went with minidsp was the statement that the SHD works with Roon.

Where did you buy it from? I'd be inclined to return it for a refund if I was you, in case the Roon certification issue doesn't get sorted soon, or ever.

So MiniDSP has not confirmed or denied that Roon works with the SHD? What is the status? This seems like a huge mess.

In the latest miniDSP Newsletter which I received on October 20th, they said this about the issue:

- Roon Ready Certification: The final touches are ongoing but with a slight delay as can happen for complex implementations. Customers of SHD/SHD Studio/SHD Power platforms will soon receive a free upgrade in coming weeks. Thanks again for your patience!

They never claimed it was Roon Ready. Certification is finalized and I believe we are just waiting on a firmware update. In the meantime you can enable Roon Bridge in Volumio and get 80-90% of Roon Ready functionality.

My personal take on this is that nobody can be CERTAIN it will happen until it has.
