AFAIR this is the correct setting. I do not know why this is technically required. But after I had configured it this way dirac 2 did find the SHD Studio.

When starting dirac from the SHD plugin it is correct that just a finder window opens. You have to start dirac from this manually then.

Is the USB cable ok? Can you play music from the mac via the SHD-USB-connection? Oh, probably the SHD plugin does see the SHD. So I think this is not the problem... Maybe you should contact the support?

I installed MacOS Mojave on an external hard drive for testing.
There the MiniDSP with Dirac 3 works without problems.
So it must be the fault of my current installation on the iMac.
Thanks for the suggestions I will probably set up my Mac again.

i have also the Problem ond Installed Windows 10, actual patches,
deinstaled older Version SHD, Driver etc. reboot system after each deinstallprocess
Double check, Networ, vulumio ok, play to devialet, perfekt matter
MiniDSP SHD reacheble , ping ok, media pc reacheble ping ok, same Netsegment (same switch)
downloade new Version of Software, User SW Downloade miniDSP page,
Login on diraclive ok account funktion well,
Reset of shd, to delivery condition, check all driver,

no chance to reach the shd, "msg ...plugin the board"

Same problem here:
MacBookPro, MacOS 10.15.7, miniDSP, Dirac 3.0 - all updated to newest soft-/firmware.

All was well for about a year, then I switched the MacBook to Catalina and Dirac to 3.09. Now it is nearly impossible to "connect" Dirac to the miniDSP. It's a shame...

I found a way to get it to work sometimes, try this in exact this order:

1. Switch miniDSP to USB input
2. Start Dirac software (from the Finder, NOT from the SHD plugin)
3. Start the DSP/SHD plugin software and connect to the miniDSP
4. Then press "Start Dirac live software" within the DSP/SHD software
5. Now timing is critical: Just when the Finder opens switch to the already running Dirac app and press rescan devices in the upper left corner of the Dirac software. Do NOT start Dirac again from the DSP/SHD software. Just switch over to the already running Dirac Software. This sometimes works...

This is a really poor solution. I am also using the NAD M17V2. With this processor I simply start the Dirac app and within seconds the app connects to the processor using my network. This is great. Don't know why this isn't possible with the miniDSP at least when using the miniDSP WI-DG.
