As I laid out in this thread, www.minidsp.com/forum/shd-series/14978-d...mio-gives-distortion , there is something broken about airplay implementation and volumio.

I tried moode audio on a separate PI, and there are no issues playing via usb in on shd. This pi had the same issue when running volumio.

Next step would be to try moode on the shd. That poses some questions.

It is bound to happen that volumio corrupts at one point, for whatever reason.
How would you fix a corrupt volumio installation? Can you boot from a USB stick? Is it via firmware update?

Tried to boot from usb with moode on, did not work.
The administrator has disabled public write access.

I'd strongly recommend to not load some random distribution on the SHD... else we assume that you have a way to recover it.. :-(
There are some tight synchronization when it comes to driver + ARM + DSP integration. Not all distribution will be compatible.

Hi.

The issue turned out to be purely airplay and volumio related, and not Dirac and distortion, so I made a new thread.

Did not see the reply in the other thread, looking forward to the new version. :)

(Bonus question, how will you distribute updates to Volumio? Can you make it boot from usb?)
