Linear phase concept It's pretty much understandable on math/physics level. However, what I don't understand is what I would hear differently with linear phase vs. without it in a real 3-way + sub active XO setup already having flat frequency response.

Theory is that the human ear is able to hear and discern the phase delay common and certainly present in a typical loudspeaker.

I endeavored in this matter for 12-18 hours with FIR filters and phase adjustment AFTER having terrific success using manual and automatic parametric EQ for the 2x4HD. I used REW for measurement and the EQ function for automated eq functions. This software worked gloriously and the results were as predicted.

But, I couldn't get predicted results with the FIR filters and minimum phase - after considerable effort and attempts. I surrendered.

I later asked a sharp car audio guy if he has bothered with minimum phase crossovers. His response was, "no".

I have learned to be very happy with the wonderful software present in Room EQ Wizard, and it's parametric EQ generator too. It really is terrific !
