Hello,

I recently purchased 2 Pwr-Ice125s for a custom set of 2-way active speakers I constructed, and I'm having an issue with one of them. One of the units receives the expected analog signal from my computer but outputs a barely audible signal to both drivers--even when the master volume knob is at max.

Here's what I've done in terms of troubleshooting:
--I've swapped the two 125s, and the working 125 correctly powers the drivers (therefore the wiring from the 125 to the drivers is good)
--The PWR-Ice 2x2 software, when synced with the trouble unit, shows the expected input signal (therefore the input signal to the 125 is good)
--The firmware is up-to-date as of December 3rd, 2014 (I followed the tftp firmware update process)
--I've unplugged and re-plugged in all of the removable cables on the 125
--The master volume knob changes the input signal as expected (the master volume knob is working fine)
--In the 2x2 software, my analog input is set at -0 and analog outputs are set at -0 &-2
--In the 2x2 software, none of the channels are muted & the Audio On/Off button is set to on
--The 125 is set to receive the correct voltage (125vac)

Curiosities:
--Often when I try to load the trouble 125, the 2x2 software doesn't recognize the unit on its first try.

I have only been using the XLR Analog inputs. Given that the 2x2 software is recognizing the input signal, I feel it unnecessary to test the RCA or Digital ins. Also, I'm using the 2-channel amplifier mode on the Left Channel channel mode. All of my work has been done on a windows environment.

The unit's serial number is 240-1241.

I'm not certain what else I can do to troubleshoot. Please advise.

I meant 115vac, not 125vac

Hello Chris,

Few things to troubleshoot.
1) Did you make sure that the settings are the same for these units? i.e. a simple restore to default and making sure that you are not running some filters or some sales
2) How are the RMS meters looking like?
3) Did you check that the input jumpers are correct? Maybe they got removed during shipping?

Keep us updated.

Pardon my delay in response.I've been busy and had to put this project on hold for a little bit.

Resetting the unit to factory default and manually inputting my settings did not work. The output signal of my speaker drivers was still very soft.

All of the RMS meters in the 2x2 software show that they are receiving good signal.

The input jumpers are all in place where they need to be, and the same set of jumpers are in each unit.

Also, switching between analog input 1 & 2 on the 125 with issues yields the same low output.

Hello Chris,

Indeed very odd. I wonder if somehow the internal jumpers got messed up (i.e. lower sensitivity). (i.e. another set not mentioned)
Is it possible that you start a tech support ticket with us? (minidsp.desk.com). It's easier this way for us to track a query and share some pics.

Thanks
