mmmh, that's indeed odd as we're not able to see that on our side with that fix::
- "latest firmware" = v1.3 that was posted last friday? Upgrade firmware being done without any problems?
- please email us the file so we can see your configuration. You can email it to us to: info AT minidsp.com

Thanks!

Hi Foyus,

I hope you get this sorted out, it does sound like you're just not updating the firmware properly. Devteam were very quick to get this one fixed so hopefully they'll get you sorted quickly.

8 TAPS allocated to channels 5,6,7 and 8 leaving how many free?

How many TAPS in total are allocated to the 4 active channels?

@ Foyus,

Thanks for sending us your configuration which we did test over here to indeed find the issue. It just takes a bit more time (and tricks) since we keep adding features to a board that is already very busy! The good news is that the problem should now be solved. Please go to the user downloads area, we issued a new plug-in having the latest fix for the DSP firmware. Make sure that you follow the exact steps for DSP firmware upgrade (i.e. restore to default)

2) Make a backup of your 4 x setting.xml configurations stored in My Documents\MiniDSP\OpenDRC-2x2\setting and copy them to another folder of your PC

Probably should read...

My Documents\MiniDSP\miniSHARC-4x8-96k\setting or My Documents\MiniDSP\miniSHARC-4x8-48k\setting

Also, and haven't opened it yet but shouldn't the ZIP file be 103 and not 101?

Thanks Ken for noticing the typo. Problem now fixed!
Also note that the server didn't sync the miniSHARC 4x8 96k latest plug-in correctly. Problem solved after a flush of cache.

Latest version should be miniSHARC_4x8_96k_103.zip

Still same problem :(

- Delete old app
- install new 103 app
- upgrade DSP with the last firmware (same name than the old...following the instructions of the manual)
- Reboot
- Connect and restore to default (instead off "upgrade & synchro")
- load the exactly same config file which i sent to you
-> same noise on all speakers.

Why 4 channels works and not the 4 others ?

Edit : int "about" menu : FW 2.013, app V1.3
Edit 2 : setting file attached if someone can test it.
1&2 TW FIR Working
3&4 MID FIR Working
5&6 Woof FIR bypass (noise on all speakers if unbypassed)
7&8 SW FIR bypass (noise on all speakers if unbypassed)

A clarification on the...

4) Connect with the plug-in by clicking on the Green sync button
5) At the first dialog box, remember to click "Restore to default". This step is very important to reflash the DSP configuration.

Restore Config in this first dialog box?

Ok, we know why now. :-)
The "Restore to default" from that first dialog box is not the one you need to click on. It just restores the XML, not the DSP firmware.
What you need to do is go inside the plug-in and go to the Menu RESTORE - > Factory default.

We did tested the file you provided before to us via email. It was working fine with v1.3

@ Ken,

See comments above. We meant using the menu "Restore" -> "Factory default". Not restore config.
Did you post a comment about having an issue with rev1.3 as well? Make sure that you're using v1.3 (yesterday we had v1.1 on the server for 3h due to server sync issue)

Thanks for your answer.

I do the "restore to default".
When i connect the board, first, i restore config and after, i restore to default.

If i erase the app from window, reinstall the app, then use the "force header firmware", then upgrade to the new firmware with the tool (not in the app) to the firmware provided with v1.3 app, when i connect the board first time, i can choose between "upgrade and synchro" or "restore config".
I tried the 2 options, and do a "factory default" after, then load the config file-> noise
Between each step, close app, shut down the board, unplug usb, reboot, plus the usb, open app.

It's not my first sharc / minidsp board....... ;)
I confirm the version 1.3 ("about menu")

Maybe I'm not as it should.
What is the exactly proper method ?

Mmmh, ok then not sure what it could be since your file works fine on our side. We'll try with the ZIP file you just sent

One little test, please click on the "Upgrade and synchronize" at the first step of synchronization.

@ Foyus,

Make sure to set the number of taps to an even number (e.g. 2048) and it will work fine. You don't have to modify your .bin file for the filters.
