I've just used rephase to create some filters that are 2048 taps long. 4 in total, 2 tweeters and 2 midwoofers. I knew having read the manual that I would have to unload some of the default channels and set them to zero manually to free up enough tap. Problem is I can't figure this out for the life of me, I've clicked the buttons on the FIR page in what seems like an infinite amount of combinations, whatever I do the amount of available taps never goes up!!

What am I doing wrong?

Ta

At least I can help with this one.

In the FIR window, lower right hand corner there's two fields in yellow, Taps Used and Taps Available.

The Taps Used for unused channels needs to be set to 8 and not zero.

Click in the Taps Used box, backspace over what's there, enter 8 and then the ENTER key.

Taps Available will increase and be available for other channels.

Cheers,

Ken

It doesn't help when the documentation tells you to set Taps Used to 0 but all that does is reset it back to whatever it was before when you hit Enter.

Bottom of Page 17...

NOTES:

o All FIR sections are by default loaded with 1024. You can free some “Taps available” by setting to 0 the “Taps Used” dialog box of unused channels.

Mmh, good typo on the user manual indeed and sorry for the confusion guys.
When you do spot these, please feel free to fire an email to us and we'll update the user manual asap. (will try this today/tomorrow morning)

Sorry again for the confusion and thanks to Ken for the step by step. :-)

Hi devteam,

It also states 0 in your rephase application note.

User manual now updated.
@ Stefan, where did you see in the app note about setting the taps to zero? Are you talking of this app note? www.minidsp.com/applications/advanced-tools/rephase-fir-tool

Can't find a mention of it.
