Hi!

I am looking at the system diagram in miniSHARC plugin PDF file (page 2).

The crossover section (LPF + HPF), probably done with IIR filters, is before the FIR section.

But then the combination of filters (crossover IIR + DRC FIR) will not be phase-invariant if the FIR filter is not reversing phase effects of the IIR crossover filter.

Wouldn't it be better to both crossover filtering and DRC filtering in the FIR section?

Is there any DRC software out there which can produce phase-linear FIR filters which act as both crossover filter and DRC filter?

Hi - just wondering if you've looked at rephase?

Yes, rephase would be the way to go as a great tool.

Sure you can always use the FIR only if you want.:-) IIR is very low on resources so it's here to "help".. :-) As you correctly said, you would indeed use the FIR to linearise.
