So Here is my story: six months ago my 2x8 board died and that was all the excuse I needed to buy an OpenDRC DA-8. I input all my old biquads and for a while was happy. I have complete measurement system with my old desktop using M-Audio internal sound card, Dayton EMM-6 mic plus M-audio mic amp. Now I have a nice new laptop which I want to use for measurements. I need a new external USB sound card plus something else. What I want to do is use REW plus RePhase to do a linear phase crossover with the DA-8.

It appears to me that in order to use the DA-8 with measurement setup (levels, channels, etc) as I did with my 2x8 board that I need a sound card that has a digital output. Is this correct? I haven't been able to find any such critter. Any suggestions or work-arounds would be appreciated. Thanks

Would something like this cheap A/D converter be all that I need?

That would probably work but I'd be more inclined to try something like this:

Thanks John. I am confused as to how to use a DAC to then send signal to another DAC, i.e. the DA-8.

It has a coax digital output.

However, now that I look at the page again it says unavailable. There also the miniDSP miniStreamer but that has no case, also similar things on ebay.
