I am using a 192kHz capable USB bridge between the OpenDRC-DA8 and the audio PC. During startup of the PC a very loud noise is being output to the amplifiers for seconds until the music player has started.
The same happens when switching to a 192kHz track from another track with a lower sampling rate for as long as the signal is not locked upon, this can take a few seconds.

Apart from a few short clicks now and then both these problems do not happen with a 96kHz USB bridge.

I never noticed this with the 4x10HD.

@ EADraaisma

Was about to ask our engineers more info, but they told me that you already had a tech support opened. As per our instructions, best to have a single path of communication else we're looking at double the amount of work. :-) Thanks!

Sounds like a loss of lock somehow on the upstream device.. just a guess..

The issue has been solved by DevTeam by means of a firmware fix. Super!

Glad to hear that it's fixed. We'll push that release soon to the plug-in of the miniSHARC for an upgrade.

I have a problem that might be related to this.
I am trying to use the miniStreamer with the OpenDRC-DA-8 using I2S. I am getting a very loud screeching sound from my speakers with the pin configuration below. The miniDSP control panel sees the test signal from my PC and responds with the left and right volume meters but only noise is output. The noise is output all the time not just when I send a test signal. I tried connecting both a USBstreamer and miniStreamer and I get the same result with either device. SPDIF works fine after I change back to master on the miniShark.

miniShark set to I2S input slave, I2S output master

USBstreamer Pin 1 I2S data OUT ch1&2 to miniShark Pin 10
USBstreamer Pin 10 I2S System clock (SCLK) to miniShark Pin 15 I2S_IN_BCLK
USBstreamer Pin 11 Ground (GND) to miniShark Pin 6 GND
USBstreamer Pin 12 I2S frame synch (LRCLK) to miniShark Pin 14 I2S_IN_LRCLK

I also tried connecting to the I2S I/O expansion port of the miniShark with the same result. This is the pinout.
miniStreamer-miniShark

1 SCLKOUT 5 I2S_IN_BCLK
2 LRCLKOUT 4 I2S_IN_LRCLK
6 SDOUT 6 I2S_DATA_IN1&2
7 Power GND 1 GND
