Crumboo,

If you don't mind, could tell us which pins (by numbers) are connected between minisharc and buffalo 3?

MiniSharc: GND (pin 5-8), MCLKIN (pin 9), I2S_IN_LRCK (pin 14), I2S_IN_BCK (pin 15), I2S data (pin 16-19)
Buffalo 3: GND, DCK, D1 (LRCLK), D2-D5 (data, ch1-ch8)

My guess is;
pin 14 to D1
pin 15 to DCK
pin 16 to D2
pin 17 to D3
pin 18 to D4
pin 19 to D5
pin 9 to ??

Thanks :laugh:

plj: yes, that's right. pin 9 (MCKLIN) should not be connected to anything.

Best regards,
Mattias

Does it means to don't wire the ground ? i can see only one ground wire in your setup.
I've 6 ground wires bettween sharc and b3
I've actually the same setup with digifp and volfp but a lot of issues (littles pop when using volfp, little "pilipili" sound in speaakers and in other part, bigs software problems with some fir section provoquing horrible distorded sound...)
Please can you give me your b3 config ?
Best regards

Yes, I only use one gnd wire (supposed that they were all connected together each side anyway).
Sorry to hear you have issues. I get back with the BIII settings as I get back from my vacation trip.

Best regards,
Mattias

I received the adapter boards I made :) :

As I have disassembled my setup for the next prototype build I haven't yet tested if it works, but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't. :whistle:

Foyus: I've now checked my BIII config, and all switches are in the lower position. Good luck with your build.

Thanks Crumboo !

All is working now, i've just made a shortest flat ribbon and use only one ground pin on the sharc (but with all the grounds coming from flat ribbon attached on).

Good work for the adapters !

@ Crumboo,

A clear setup! You ought to setup a little group buy for that neat adapter! I'm sure that there are quite few ppl out there that would love to get their hands on that neat PCB.

Thanks for sharing! OK if you post these pics on the pic gallery? It's neat!

Mattias,
Thanks for sending an adapter board! I cannot wait for it... To share my project idea with other people in the forum, here is my plan;

DSP: miniSHARC + Digi-FP + USBStreamer + 4x10 plugin
DAC: Buffalo III with 4 x IVY III line stages + Alps 10k motorpotentiometer for master volume control; 8 discrete balanced outputs with 2 duplicated balanced outputs for woofers
Amplifier: 10 x Hypex UcD180HG with HxR + Connex SMPS2000R at 48V
Speaker: A pair of LX521 with no analog crossover - tweeter pair, upper mid, lower mid, woofer 1, woofer 2 fed separately
DSP setting: To maximize miniSHARC's potential, apply;
IIR filter to replicate LX521 crossovers at outputs
FIR filter to linearize phase response for each speaker driver based on rePhase
IIR filter to flatten frequency spectrum at inputs based on REW

I'd welcome any feedback.

devteam: Thanks! I still have a couple of boards left if there is anyone else that is interested. If there is a big interest I can easily order more of them and setup a little group buy.

pjl: Nice project with many similarities with my own! I'd be happy to follow your project (and please post som pictures on the way ;) ) I'll keep on posting my progress here as well.

Hi! I just wanted to share some info on my newest iteration of this project:

This time there are I/V-stages in the box. Build on the IVY3-schematics from Twisted Pear but since I don't needed SE outputs and wanted a compact design I made my own boards. One Placid BP (with tall heat sinks) is used for powering all 8 of them.

A bit of a moment when powering it up for the first time - but it just works! :cheer: Sounds wonderful and I can't wait to build those power amps so I can run the digital crossovers as planned.

Wow! It looks fantastic. Could you explain why you uses 8 units of IVY line stage instead of 4? I thought IVY line stage supports 2 channels. Anyway, if you can share a block diagram, a lot of us can learn from you. :lol:

He's made his own mono boards. The TP ones are stereo as you point out.
