Hi,

I'd like to go from my rme aes/ebu to the toslink of the minidsp hd x4, in order to avoid unnecessary da/ad conversion.

So it seems I need two adaptators.
1. Aes/ebu to s/pdif, like this one , or this one (oddly with a battery)
2. S/pdif to toslink, with this one one.

According to this article , i could avoid the first adaptor on a short distance (which is my case).

What are your thoughts ? Am I loosing audio quality with those small hacks ?

Many thanks !
