In the old plugin you used to be able to apply a PEQ to an input. How do I do this in the device console?

You have to switch to a non-Dirac configuration.

if I switch to flex, set a PEQ on an input there, and back to dirac - will it delete the PEQ I set on that preset?

Yes, you'll delete everything.  The Dirac configurations are completely different and require a bunch of the available processing power.  You have to sacrifice some of the DSP capabilities of the non-Dirac setups to achieve it.

There's no free lunch here.  :)

Ok. Let's say I want to put a low shelf PEQ an an input. But I need dirac too.

Since I can't do an input-wide PEQ with Dirac, would it be roughly equivalent to apply the same low shelf PEQ on all the outputs for that input (since I can do that in device console with dirac)?

I would just let Dirac do the shelving for you.

Dirac doesn't do the shelving... or you mean just let it do what it does and leave it at that?

Any difference would depend on your signal routing, but if you just say sent input 1 to output 1 then the result would be 100% identical if you applied the low shelf on the input or the output.

As discussed in your other thread, Dirac Live does now have easily applied low-shelf target curves you could experiment with, or you could use the old-style target curve to make this any shape you want. The only reason to not do this in Dirac Live would be if you're trying to apply a filter outside the frequency range that you want to apply Dirac Live?

ok thanks. I'm not trying to do a specific thing but just to understand the big picture so this helps.
