Anyone offering them? That would be a nice accessory to add. I would buy 6 of them with my balanced MiniDSP box. Im not interested in doing the wiring on the balanced cables.

One hint: The connector is so called "phoenix terminal blocks" so if you google "phoenix to xlr" you might get more search entries... here is one for example: www.directproaudio.com/product.cfm?directid=58259 though I'm sure that you can find others.

Note that the female connectors (although not taken on the picture) are indeed provided so maybe if you have some xlr cable left over, you could cut them and just screw the wire on the phoenix side.

With this said, we'll consider adding them as an accessory to the box as we can understand that a plug&play solution may be preferred.

Hope this info helps,

Thanks for this info. I just ordered a MiniDSP balanced box and hope it will have enough output to drive the Behringer EP4000 that I've ordered to drive my subs. I also had to order cables of course. As always this turned into an expensive proposition.

Theresa,

If you have some XLR cables running around (you would need them anyway if you have an XLR Amp!) and don't mind halfing them (i.e. XLR on one part, Terminal block provided by us on the other side), then you'll be good to go. Connecting the bare wire to the terminal block is only a 5min job... Will save you some money.. The proposed connector above was just for a plug&play solution.

Hope this helps,

The only XLR cables I have are for my measurement microphone. I ordered the ones the link points too and regular xlr ones from Parts Express. I never had much use for XLR until I decided to get a pro amp for my subs.
You are the best thing that ever happened to speaker building. The miniDSP is transparent (at least to my old ears) and is far better than the alternatives (Behringer 9624 etc).

Glad to hear you're happy with your miniDSP Theresa... :-)
Looking forward to hearing how the miniDSP balanced fits your Pro Amp application.

For balanced should I set the input jumper to .9 volts or 2 volts?
Thank you for the kind words. The miniDSP is really only second to my speakers in importance to my system. I read that you said you were working on another product, will this make my miniDSPs obsolete?

Well... I setup the pro-amp (Behringer EP4000) with unbalanced connections just until the balanced miniDSP and cables come and the bass is very weak even with the "gain" knobs set to maximum on the amp. This didn't surprise me, after all I ordered the balanced miniDSP and the cables for good reason! Still its a disappointment as I''ll have to wait for those to arrive, but at least I know they aren't foolish purchases.
Also, I need to switch the power amps fan for a quieter one as it is loud even from six feet away. I have that on order too. This will probably void the warranty though.
I am afraid I have audiophilia and its uncontrolled at this point. There should be an entry for it in the DSM.
