I'm adding a DDRC-24 to my sound system.
It's connected between the preamp and the power amp, which must be the standard way.
But in this configuration, the signal level is attenuated by the volume control BEFORE it goes to the DDRC.
So the signal is always way lower than the un-attenuated signal coming from the sources.

If instead I was to send the signal from the sources to the DDRC first, and then bring back the output of the DDRC to the preamp to be attenuated by the volume control, and then to the amp, theoretically the higher signal in the ADC and DAC would insure a better S/N ratio at the output of the DDRC.
The way to do this would be to take the signal from the Tape 2 Out to send it to the DDRC. Then the return from the DDRC is fed to the Tape 1 Monitor of the preamp, just leaving the Tape Monitor switch always On. This acts as a kind of Effect Loop in the signal path.

Do you think this makes sense?
Has anybody tried that before?
