Im having a bit of mild noise issues so i decided to research my amps for balance and unbalance configurations and noticed my subwoofer amplifier has a "balanced differential" (stated by the website) input while everyone else is unbalanced. I got two questions:
  1. The minidsp 8x12 has unbalanced inputs correct?
  2. How can I make my subwoofer amp unbalanced? (Im thinking shorting the sub amp's input [outer RCA shield] to the MiniDsp's input RCA with a very thin cable)
Equipment:
-Focal FDP 6.900 v2 6 channel
-Rockford Fosgate Power T750
-Kenwood Excelon DNX997XR
-MiniDsp 8x12 DL

Ground setup:
-All of my equipment, except the head unit, are connected to the same GND on the same distribution block. The block is connected to the chassis of then car.

As a general guideline, you should perform the initial configuration of the miniDSP audio processor before enabling audio through any connected output device or amplification. Doing so will help ensure that the software is correctly configured.
