Does anyone still remember a great nanoSHARC ?

nanoSHARC USER Manual v1.2, p.p.12, Figure 1, describes nanoSHARC an I2S-master. Depicted I2S in/out configuration should be considered to deploy on-board clock source.  My question is  ,in case USB or TOSLINK input, output clock to DAC is sourced by on-board or recovered from upper-link?
