I'm thinking of integrating two subs into my two channel system. Which would be the better unit to use, the DDRC24 or the 88A?   I think I'm really asking which unit has the better DAC?  And would the 88BM make for enough additional improvement to make it the choice?
I have Legacy Audio Signature III full range floor standing speakers and 2-Rythmik F12 subs in a HT system that I hardly use so thinking of moving them.
Thanks for your opinions,
Robbie

@ Robbiesd

If you're thinking integrating 2 subs to the main AND have Dirac Live for both, then the DDRC-24 or miniDSP Flex (with Dirac live) should be enough.. Why do you need 88A? Is that a multichannel setup?

here is an app note on how do it with DDRC-24: www.minidsp.com/applications/digital-roo...rc-24-for-2-1-system

Thank You for the reply and advice devteam.

As I mentioned, the reason I am considering the 88A is it allows the use of the 88BM software which I imagine will give better control over the low end.
Now after spending time on the forum and re-reading Dr. Geddes white paper, and to that end, I am thinking I'll get a third sub to smooth things out even more.

Both the DDRC-24 and the 88A are high-quality units from miniDSP, but they serve slightly different purposes. The DDRC-24 is a DAC with Dirac Live room correction, while the 88A is more of an advanced digital active crossover. If you're specifically interested in the DAC quality, the DDRC-24 might be the better choice because it's designed with that purpose in mind. However, if you're considering additional improvements and versatility, particularly if you plan on more complex integrations in the future, the 88BM might be worth the investment. Always remember to consider your specific needs and setup when making your choice.
