Something's wrong with switching between configurations here. I use the newest firmware now but it has been the same before with older ones. When I use my remote to switch between configs I have a 50:50 chance that the blue power LED will start blinking and the device will not react anymore. Not even a restart (power off and on again) will make it work again. The blue power LED will keep blinking after restart. The only way to make it work again is to connect it to my notebook (that is usually not connected) and upgrade the DSP program through the plugin. When I use the smartphone app it works better, but once in a while the same thing will happen. It will freeze. I already panic everytime I see the blue LED blinking.

I have connected the WiFi bridge, but I am pretty sure it was acting weird like that already before I got that. This is really a very annoying behaviour.

Any ideas why it does that and what could help? I searched but I didn't even find anything about the power LED blinking on a 2x4 HD.

Oh... I just realize that is not the Power LED blinking. It says IR. Usually it is permanently blue. Sometimes it starts to blink and then the whole box becomes unresponsive. Just... Why?

Edit: All wrong. It's the power LED. My device stands kind of hidden, so it's hard for me to see. My apologies.

This mostly happens when I use the original remote. Sometimes when I swtich presets through the smartphone app.

What does the blinking IR LED mean anyway? I find it nowhere documented. Can the Dev team maybe reply?

The IR sensor receives IR commands from the remote control. It shouldn’t emit any light at all. Even if it did you wouldn’t be able to see it since it is infrared. The blue LED is a dual color LED but the color blue is the only one that is currently active (power ON). There is no use for the second color at this time. Or at least that’s what I was told when I had questions of my own about the IR sensor and power LED. I’ve heard others say that their blue LED blinks but I have never seen mine do it when it was a 2x4HD or after I converted it to DDRC-24 specs.

Hi Stephen, thank for your answer. Unfotunately I cannot find anything about blinking blue power LED on 2x4 HD. I just want to know what it means, so maybe I can figure ouut why it does that. I don't believe it is my fault. Just changing settings through the remote shouldn't make the box freeze. I have flashed the firmware again, just to make sure there is nothing wrong, but it is still the same.

PS: I said it is the IR LED but really it is the power LED. My mistake. I guess it was to dark in my room when I checked.

Unfortunately not even an answer from the dev team about the blinking power LED. So I asume they don't even know what it means and it simply is due to buggy firmware.

Hi, i have similar problem like yours, everytime i turn on my 2 x4 HD the LED will blink and non functional . I need to update the firmware to stop the the blink but the problem still persist when i turn in on after 15minutes of break time . Do you have any solution for it?

Here we go again. I can't make mine stop blinking. So what the hell does this blue blinking LED mean?
I turn power off and on, I reset it to factory settings, I even update the firmware . No matter what I do, that damn thing keeps on blinking, telling me it needs to be reset or that the plugin needs to be closed. WTF? This thing is not usable like this!

Can someone from the dev team please answer or do you guys even not know what that blue blinking LED means and how I can make my device work properly? You should!

So. this is my first post here as I just recently got a miniDSP with wifi bridge.

It has run flawlessly for about a week, but today I sat down and did some measurements of my room, and ended up making a new profile without sub, and instead compensate the low end on my main speakers. I mapped this configuration to config 2. Then I did the learn remote function to allow me to change between the two configs. it worked ok for 4-5 swaps between the configs but then suddenly it went dark and the blinking light started. It is the power indicator that Is blanking blue. I had to connect a laptop to it and revert to factory setting s to get audio through the device again...but the light is still blinking. And now if I try to mak a different config it always asks me to revert to factory settings.

It is working now but blinking and with only one config, but that light is annoying as hell. can't have a blinking diode below the screen.

So I guess this is a ongoing mystery if read you guys right?

Hi! Seems I am not the only one having this problem. It still happens once in a while and usually when I switch between the presets using the remote. It is very annoying and it's hard to get rid of that blinking LED and make it work properly again. Usually I keep desperately factory resetting the unit over and over again until it works again. Dev team doesn't help or even react, so to me it is obvious this is a bug and they have no idea what's the cause or it just can't be fixed, so they better don't say anything about it. Really poor customer support.

Same issue here. Unit freezes after I change config, blue LED is flashing. Asks to Restore Defaults or Close Program. It has done this several times. Very frustrating!

Extremely frustrating! Basically you can only use 1 config. because changing configs always comes with the risk of "breaking" the unit. I still haven't found out what really needs to be done to make it work again. Most often the blue LED starts to blink when I use the remote control, but sometimes also when I use the android app or plugin for Windows. So there is basically no safe way to use it. Right now I only use one config and try to not touch it. Everything is just very unstable.

I recently started using my 2x4HD for a special project. My laptop is new and I had to down load new software and update the firmware. The 2x4HD does not learn from remotes I had been using in the past. The Dev Team tells me my firmware should be 1.12. I downloaded the only firmware there was on the miniDSP site. When I updated it it came up 1.02. I did a factory reset hoping it would fix the remote learning problem. Now the power LED blinks and nothing resets it. It seems to load the firmware (still 1.02) but no audio and the LED blinks. What does your UI say the firmware version is?

Hi. The newest firmware is 1.12. I don't know why you don't get it on their site. The file that you can download there includes the plugin, driver and firmware.
